About me
Hello, I'm Deb, a degree-qualified Mental Health Social Worker with a Master's in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I am a trained EMDR therapist, including Master Class and Structural Dissociation training. I also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution and am a qualified Justice of the Peace. My practice is grounded in evidence-based therapies, and I'm passionate about supporting individuals through their mental health journeys with empathy and professionalism. At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to take meaningful steps toward healing and growth. I tailor each treatment plan to meet the specific needs of the person I’m working with, always considering the whole person—not just their symptoms.Mental health is not one-size-fits-all. By integrating evidence-based therapies with genuine human connection, I aim to support individuals in developing the insight, tools, and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges and create lasting change. What truly inspires me is the incredible resilience of the human spirit. I’m continually moved by the courage clients show in facing life’s challenges and their willingness to grow through even the most difficult circumstances. Being a part of someone’s healing journey—helping them rediscover hope, reclaim their strengths, and reconnect with a sense of purpose—is both humbling and deeply rewarding. It’s this connection and transformation that continues to fuel my passion for the work I do.
- My Approach
- Healing from trauma takes courage — and you don’t have to do it alone. As a person-centered therapist, I believe you are the expert of your own experience. My role is to walk alongside you — to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and genuinely respected. I hold deep trust in the human capacity to heal, grow, and reconnect with one’s inner wisdom. My approach is gentle, relational, empathic, and grounded in evidence-based practices. I work at your pace, always listening closely to what feels safe and manageable for you. Whether you’re navigating the impact of past trauma, anxiety, grief, or long-standing patterns that no longer serve you, we’ll explore things together — never with pressure, but with care and compassion. Because I work from a trauma-informed lens, I pay close attention to the nervous system, the role of safety in healing, and the way our stories live not only in our thoughts but in our bodies. We’ll focus on helping you feel more stable, present, and connected to who you are today. Confidentiality is a fundamental part of how I work. I understand that sharing your story can feel incredibly vulnerable, and I’m committed to creating a space where your privacy and trust are fully respected. Everything we discuss remains confidential, within the ethical and legal boundaries of professional practice. There is no one-size-fits-all in this work. You are unique, and your therapy should reflect that. Each session is tailored to what you need at that moment — whether that’s space to reflect, tools to ground yourself, or simply someone to sit beside you when things feel heavy.

- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) If you’re feeling unsure, that’s okay. Reaching out is a big step. You are welcome here — just as you are.
